By car:
Lefkada is the only island where you can come by car using the bridge that connects Lefkada with Aetoloakarnania.
The best way to explore the island is to have your own car. You reach most places of the island through the road network.
In Lefkada there are many car rentar businesses.
By bus:
There are regular routes from and towards Athens and Thessaloniki.
The Preveza - Aktio underwater tunnel makes access very easy from northeastern Greece and also the port of Igoumenitsa is a gate to West Nd Central Europe.
Rio-Antirio Bridge connects Lefkada with the rest Greece and Patra's port which is also a passthrough to Europe.
From Mytika leave small baots to Kalamos and Kastos.

By boat or small ships: Small tourist boats make excursions to the islands around Lefkada and to the beaches.
You can visit the areas and beaches of Lefkada
through organized excursions.
By plane:
Daily regular flights from Athens to the airport of Aktio and two weekly flights from Thessaloniki take you to Lefkada.
Also, there is air connection with Crete, througn Aktio.
Seaplanes:
There are flights to Corfu, Ioannina, Paxoi, Kefalonia and Patra.
