Tourist Guide of Simi

Scattered churches and wooded hillsides compose a fascinating picture at Simi where visitors will not miss crowds because the tranquility of the area will make them feel the absolute completion!
The capital of the island is Simi and has various districts such as Harani, Kampos, Kouloundri, the Pitini, Kali and the Pano Chorio. In their majority, the residents deal with the naval professions and at Simi you can find traditional woven clothes and dolls in traditional costumes.

In Simi, the Castle of the Knights is impressive and so are the buildings of the National and the Ionian Bank, of the City Hall, of the Naval Museum, of the Police and of the Petridi Elementary School. You can swim at Pedi and at Emporio and with an excursion boat from Yialos you can reach the beaches of Agia Marina, Disalona, Nano, Marathounta, Panormitis, Agios Aimilianos and Agios Vasilios and the islet Nimo. The monastery of the ruler Michael the Panormitis, the patron saint of Simi, it is found in the Panormitis. From there, from the east you can reach the beautiful surroundings of Faneromeni and the ruins of the Pelasgika walls in the islet Seskli.

If you go to Simi try fried shrimps, stuffed vine leaves, fresh fishes and seafood and buy traditional cooking utensils.
